My Daily Armor Ministries Our History
My Daily Armor Ministries began on Monday, January 21st, 2013 originally as a way of reaching as many Christians as possible with encouraging words, daily bible verses, and uplifting devotionals. At around that same time our founder Scott Goldbach was climbing Kilimanjaro in the country of Tanzania and came across a young man named Emanuel who was caring for several orphaned and abandoned children, whose parents had either left them or had died from AIDS or other diseases and ailments.
Upon returning home to the US he and his wife Leslie began to support these young people and from that moment on Amazing Orphans International, as we know it today, was born and it eventually became an official outreach of My Daily Armor Ministries in the spring of 2016.
In the weeks leading up to Easter of 2015, Scott felt led by God to create a cross that would be carried whenever ministering to the people in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. He spent several days fashioning a cross out of select pieces of lumber, taking his time to write his favorite bible verses on each piece of the cross, and when it was finished he asked a friend to join him for a walk into the city.
On their journey, they met several homeless people who were hungry. One of these men befriended by Scott, named Jonny G, would go on to change the course of My Daily Armor Ministries forever when Scott named our US operations after his friend Jonny, calling it Jonny’s Wagon (see “How Jonny’s Wagaon Got It’s Name“. It then became an official outreach of our organization, committed to serving communities in need, later that same year.
That same cross is being carried into small towns in the US today, ahead of any new works that are being done through our Jonny’s Wagon outreach.
Today, My Daily Armor Ministries supports projects, and supplies financial assistance for food, clothing, education, and medical care to vulnerable, orphaned, and abandoned children internationally, and helps care for communities in need in the US. We are a Christian organization supplying humanitarian relief efforts across the globe.
